Wildfowling in it's true sense is an age old pastime enjoyed by sporting men for its endless variety and challenging shooting. Wild duck shooting or flighting can be sourced on the foreshore, marsh or over the specially created flight ponds that exist on many sporting estates across Great Britain. In addition to this Mallard are often released onto these same ponds, and occasionally rivers, to add to the natural flight or to provide an extra drive on a formal day.

Owing to the flying abilities of these released duck they are capable of providing some extreme sport for even the best shot. Opportunities to shoot duck in various bag numbers are available between the first of September and the twentieth of February.
